On July 14, 2019 the Varian Medical Systems company provided the new systems and the software from the portfolio of means on cancer therapy, including the Identify system, at an annual meeting of the American association of medical physicists of 2019 (AAPM) to San Antonio, the State of Texas.
Identify is an automated system of identification, positioning and control of movements of patients at radiation therapy. Thanks to new software, a system ensures high safety, quality and efficiency of process, but also, provides means of the automated navigation for the superficial focused radiation therapy (SGRT).
Other shown solutions Varian integrate artificial intelligence and analytics of data. So, RapidPlan uses machine learning to help doctors to achieve bigger coordination when planning treatment. Multi-criteria optimization increases efficiency and quality of the planned therapy, helping doctors to reveal advantages and to reach compromises at change of parameters of the plan.
Besides, Noona - the intuitive application for patients thanks to which they will be able to announce the attending physician the course of a disease was provided. Will allow to improve the application monitoring of symptoms, pro-active maintaining and sorting of patients. Also at an exhibition there was a ProBeam 360 system °, developed for proton therapy of the next generation. It offers new clinical opportunities, the 360-degree overview and the RapidScan technology simplifying traffic control.
Also the full range of software solutions of Varian for planning and management of short-distance radiation therapy, carrying out surgical interventions, quality check of the equipment, visualization and dosimetry with visual control will be presented at an exhibition.[1]
