At the beginning of April, 2012 Intel provided the Small Business Advantage (SBA) technology designed to help representatives of small and medium business to save on technical support of the PC park. According to Dan Russell (Dan Russell), the area director of business and client solutions of Intel, SBA is focused, first of all, on the companies with number of employees from one to 99 people.
As a rule, in such organizations the acute shortage of human resources in IT department is felt, and the IT budget is extremely limited. Actually, Russell specifies that in 90% a case the IT department is absent at all, for SMB, – really, a typical situation.
Intel Small Business Advantage is the simple hardware-software solution in use which in the automatic mode executes data backup, software updating and makes maintenance of computers in time off even if they are switched off. The hardware platform based on a processor family of Core of the second generation is the cornerstone, on it the majority of modern desktop PCs and notebooks are constructed.
Developers paid much attention to the developed safety features: there is a support of Intel Anti-Theft Technology and a possibility of blocking or access restriction to the certain devices connected on USB ports (in the latter case it is required to enter the password). It was not without the energy saving functions which are traditionally put by Intel in the forefront – SBA is able independently according to beforehand to the set schedule to include and switch-off computers. Control using the SBA tools is exercised both of the PC of certain users, and at the same time all machines in network.
Solutions based on technology of Intel of SBA are already available in the channel through resellers and numerous local equipment manufacturers, including Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, Lenovo, etc. The localized versions in 15 languages of the world are available.
