2021: VDE-AR-N 4110 Certification
On March 2, 2021, SDMO announced that 8 models of DGU KOHLER-SDMO of the Atlantic line, equipped with Volvo engines, now have a certificate of compliance with the German standard VDE-AR-N 4110 (rules for the technical operation of electric installations of medium voltage consumers).
As the power generation and supply system changes, as well as the transition from having only large power plants to alternative and smaller sources of electricity throughout the chain, new standards for the operation and interaction of such systems are emerging.
Typically, the DGP can function as either a primary or standby power source. The electric grid standard VDE-AR-N 4110, existing as of March 2021 in Germany, implies the operation of the DGP in parallel with the electric network. Thus, if the amount of power from the grid is insufficient, the user can now connect the DGP to the local network to consume the necessary amount of power produced by both the grid and the generator plant. At the same time, the energy quality will be identical from both sources.
DGU KOHLER-SDMO of the Atlantic line, equipped with a Volvo engine, now have this opportunity. The models V350C2_VDE, V400C2_VDE, V440C2_VDE, V500C2_VDE, V550C2_VDE, V650C2_VDE, V715C2_VDE, V770C2_VDE with a set of the special equipment (the alternator of the increased size capable to work during short circuit within 10 seconds; special voltage regulator, APM802 control panel programmed to operate in a parallel mode with the electric grid, as well as a protective power supply relay and an alternator circuit breaker with a last generation protection unit), fully comply with the German electric grid national code VDE-AR-N 4110, as confirmed by the certificate FGH - an independent certification authority in Germany.
Generator units are produced at the SDMO plant in Brest (France) specifically for design solutions and are not presented in the standard drain configuration.
