2010: Announcement of the software blade
The Mobile Access Software Blade has enhanced SSL VPN capabilities and optimized encryption technology to protect the corporate network from the threat of unauthorized access during sessions with remote users. Part of the solution is the Check Point Mobile client application, which can run on mobile devices running Apple, Android, Symbian and Windows operating systems, Check Point said in a November 2010 post.
Mobile Access Software Blade allows users to create a convenient portal that provides secure access to the corporate network, e-mail and web applications. An authentication system based on the use of certificates, as well as a well-thought-out mechanism for coordinating user devices, ensure that individual users will only have access to a certain set of applications - just as if they were at their work computer, Check Point explained. With this comprehensive approach, network administrators can centrally set security and application access policies, and end users can access the network quickly and securely without the need for multiple authorization.
Check Point's Software Blade architecture simplifies security issues by deploying the Mobile Access Software Blade or one of the other 30 software blades in minutes. At the same time, the purchase of additional hardware is not required, the network management processes are not complicated, emphasized in Check Point.
Check Point Mobile is free to download from the Apple App Store. It is planned that it will be available for other platforms, including Android and Symbian, in the first quarter of 2011. Check Point Mobile Access Software Blade can be purchased through the international network of Check Point partners at a price of $1.5 thousand.
