2024: Product Announcement
On November 1, 2024, the Russian company Nova Labs presented a mobile complex for intercepting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which develop a relatively high speed. The key component of the novelty is a special thermal imaging guidance head.
The Nova Labs system, according to the Bespilot Telegram channel, is actually an interceptor drone launched using a manual launcher. Takeoff can also be performed from a stationary tripod. Thanks to machine vision, the new Russian drone captures the target and carries out accurate guidance at the final site. It is capable of automatically pursuing targets flying at a speed of 80 km/h at an altitude of up to 200 meters.
Positioning the propellers at an angle allows the Nova Labs unmanned fighter to maneuver intensively. Interception is carried out in a kinetic way (using a strike). At the same time, due to the peculiarities of the design, when a drone interceptor collides with a target, it survives and remains operational.
The Nova Labs website says that the company produces thermal imaging devices with built-in artificial intelligence mainly from Russian components. In its developments, the company focuses on the most modern trends in science, creating solutions with high speed and low power consumption.[1]
