In the middle of February, 2018 it became known of the beginning of the European sales of the Olo tool for performing express blood test using algorithms of artificial intelligence.

The tool developed by the Israeli company Sight Diagnostics carries out the unrolled blood test in 10 minutes, using AI for processing of the scanned images. At first the device "digitizes" dab of capillary blood from a finger in color microscopic images, and then starts difficult algorithms of the computer analysis which identify and count cages of different types in a sample.

Thanks to the unrolled blood test it is possible to obtain important information on a number of diseases, including infections, anemia and some types of malignant tumors. Usually such researches are conducted within several hours and require special laboratory. Representatives of Sight claim that Olo, on the contrary, is rather simple even for the nonprofessional. Besides, this tool is rather reliable to consider small inaccuracies and errors which can arise by preparation of slides, the producer claims.

The AI tool for the unrolled blood test in 10 minutes went on sale

The AI algorithms used in the Olo system studied at anonymous data volume about a half of petabyte within four years of clinical trials. At the beginning of 2018 a system underwent clinical trial among 287 people in the Israeli medical center Shaare Zedek thanks to what got approval of regulatory bodies in the European Union. According to representatives of Sight, the Olo system exceeded the laboratory hematologic analyzer of the Sysmex XN series by 19 parameters used with the unrolled blood test and on a number of diagnostic indicators.

In 2019 the Sight company is going to conduct a number of further research and development for expansion of the market and to get approval of regulatory bodies of the USA.^[1]
