2020: The announcement of OtoSet - earphones for cleaning of ears

At the end of November, 2020 the American company SafKan Health presented an automated system of cleaning of ears of OtoSet in the form of earphones. A system is intended for professional otolaryngologists, but the producer is also going to release consumer version of this device which will allow people correctly and to safely clean house ears.

SafKan Health released OtoSet earphones which automatically clean ears

OtoSet represents pair of earphones with the tips for irrigation and suction located on inside. A system is intended for safe removal of ear sulfur which accumulation often causes pain, leads to development of infections of outside acoustical pass and even to hearing loss. Earphones spray water, directing a stream to walls of acoustical pass, but not directly to an eardrum that ensures safety of the procedure. At the same time earphones begin to suck away water together with pieces of ear sulfur, and all remaining balance gathers in the built-in container. Sprayers and a container are one-time and are replaced at visit of each patient. The rest of the device is wiped with spirit napkins according to hygienic standards.

SafKan claims that during clinical trials this device could delete even difficult old traffic jams, and each procedure took less than five minutes. For comparison, and the present is required to the otolaryngologist about 20 minutes to remove an ear stopper. One full charge of the built-in accumulator allows to perform more than 50 procedures, i.e. the tool can be used during all working day of the otolaryngologist. At the same time a wireless compact system can be transferred easily between offices and to use as for cleaning of one ear, and both ears at the same time.^[1]
