To upgrade from a Postgres Pro Standard version based on the same major PostgreSQL release, you do not need to upload/restore data. If Postgres Pro is compiled from source code or the database is created in a non-standard location, you must run the pgpro_upgrade script manually.

In Linux distributions with RPM packages, if you upgrade from or earlier, you must rename the pgsql data directory to pgpro before running the pgpro_upgrade script.

Compatibility of Postgres Pro DBMS with operating systems RED OS and GosLinux

Postgres Pro Standard 10.1

On December 15, 2017, Postgres Professional announced the release of the 10th version of the Postgres Pro Standard DBMS. It is based on the release of the open DBMS PostgreSQL 10.1 and has a number of differences.

In this version of DBMS Postgres Pro Standard 10.1.1 there is functionality of the current version of DBMS PostgreSQL, some errors have been fixed. All modifications and added features of the Postgres Pro Standard 9.6 DBMS have been transferred to version 10.1.1.

List of differences between Postgres Pro Standard 10.1.1 and vanilla version PostgreSQL:

  • added including indexes and waitlsn in the kernel;
  • all patches and extensions required for operation 1C are included;
  • ICUs collations are used by default, not only when explicitly specified for a table/column;
  • dictionaries for full-text search are present in the installation kit and are put with the command create extension hunspell_ru_ru;
  • dump_stat, jsquery, pg_query_state, pg_pathman, pg_tsparser, pg_variables, sr_plan, shared_ispell are also present in the distribution;
