Vacuum switches for traction substations
Holding Roselectronics"" of the State Corporation Rostec within the framework of the program import substitution has developed complete analogues of vacuum circuit breakers. Siemens They are part of traction substations - electrical installations that supply rolling stock and other railway infrastructure. Rostec announced this on August 31, 2022.
A vacuum circuit breaker is used to protect electrical networks in case of emergency short circuits. Vacuum in arc-quenching chambers of circuit breaker has high electric strength and serves as an effective medium for electric arc suppression when short-circuit currents are disconnected, due to which service life and reliability of networks are significantly increased.
The presented line of vacuum circuit breakers was created by the Contact NPP (part of Roselectronics) at the request of Russian Railways to replace SIEMENS switching devices. The equipment is designed for rated currents up to 1600 A and voltages of 27.5 and 35 kV. It consists of domestic components in one-, two- and three-pole versions and is developed taking into account the peculiarities of application at energy facilities of Russian railways.
Railways are an important transport artery of the country, therefore, replacing foreign solutions with domestic ones on it is one of the priority areas of our activities. Development of vacuum circuit breaker for steel-making furnaces
Holding Roselectronics"" of the State Corporation Rostec on August 5, 2022 announced that within the framework of the program it import substitution had developed a vacuum switch for steel-making furnaces. The equipment is designed for 40,000 on-off cycles and will allow replacing the JOSLYN units used for August 2022 the American.
The five-burst vacuum switch, developed by NPP Kontakt (part of Roselectronics) by order of the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant, is designed to control the electric heating of steelmaking furnaces.
The equipment has a voltage of 110 kV and is designed for rated currents up to 600 A. For this switch, a special arc suppression chamber and pole drive were developed, which ensures the simultaneous inclusion of five vacuum chambers.
In the current market conditions, the use of foreign equipment at enterprises with a continuous production cycle has become quite problematic due to problems with the supply of components. The vacuum switch we have developed has technical characteristics similar to foreign installations, and at the same time it is one third cheaper. 2019: Vacuum switch adapted for Arctic applications
On December 3, 2019, the Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation presented a domestic vacuum switch for a 110 kV voltage class, adapted for use in the Arctic. The equipment not only withstands extreme cold, but also does not require special maintenance throughout its life.
The product has reinforced insulation and is designed for switching electric networks in normal and emergency modes. The equipment allows you to quickly turn on and off the current in the power grids both remotely and in manual mode, and also performs automatic re-activation.
The vacuum circuit breaker is characterized by increased mechanical reliability and increased switching life compared to modern gas-insulated circuit breakers. The equipment is fire and explosion safe, it is installed on the open parts of the stations and provides stable operation in difficult climatic conditions at temperatures from + 40 to -60 degrees.
The equipment is manufactured by the Contact NPP (part of Roselectronics) - the only Russian developer of vacuum circuit breakers for a nominal voltage of 220 kV.
