2022: Creating an exoskeleton for the military

On August 12, 2022, Rostec announced the creation of an exoskeleton for the military. According to the developers, the new product covers the entire body of the fighter and helps to significantly increase its effectiveness.

The exoskeleton reduces energy costs and increases the accuracy of firing from automatic weapons, Vladimir Artyakov, first deputy general director of the Rostec state corporation, told RIA Novosti. According to him, the design is based on light and durable modules made of composite materials, which make up the frame of the exoskeleton - torso, pelvis, legs, feet, arms and neck.

As the interlocutor of the agency specified, these modules can be combined into one integral system. For example, the integrated Torso module can be built into the Bulletproof Vest equipment element. This approach simplifies the system of fastening frame modules to the fighter's body - it is more convenient and ergonomic, if necessary, it is easier to perform an "emergency reset," Artyakov said.

Rostec engineers have already created samples of passive and active mechanisms that block the joints of the exoskeletal complex, which allows its owner to hold loads of up to 20 kg on weight and up to 60 kg on the skeleton frame for a long time. Blockers allow you to hold weapons in your hands for up to eight hours, which is beyond the power of an ordinary person.

As August 2022, Rostec is also developing the Sotnik equipment complex for military personnel. The complex will include "anti-mine" boots, a "anti-heat" suit that hides the soldier from infrared sensors, and an anti-radar suit. Sotnik plans to use the chameleon electrically controlled material - the development of the Roselectronics holding. In addition, the state corporation made prototypes of industrial exoskeletons for carrying goods.[1]
