2020: Start of Soltus 500 - a mobile system of digital roentgenography
In the middle of August, 2020 Canon Medical Systems announced a new mobile system of digital roentgenography (DR). Its public presentation will take place within the AHRA 2020 conference.
As the producer claims, a system under the name Soltus 500 optimizes workflow due to simplification of bedside surveys. It is equipped with new controls a tube of a x-ray tube, the 8.4-inch touch display and two controls the collimator. The display of a head of a tube provides print preview of the image and displays technical settings and information on the patient. The controls located on collimator handles allow to position precisely a system without need to return to the main console. Besides, the internal technology of Distributed Antenna System company which increases a range of detectors is built in a system.
Canon emphasizes that the mobile system of digital roentgenography of Soltus has compact design and can directly be used at the patient's bed. Charging and storage of the detector onboard a system provides the optimized workflow without failures and when a system is not used, detectors are fixed in a front pocket. The expanded software package provides full inspection on site of delivery of health care, and protection is provided using an identification smart card.
According to developers, the high power and performance became possible thanks to the built-in 40 kW generator. The back compartment provides necessary space for charging and storage of the detector and also for placement of different accessories, such as protective bags. The telescopic column of Soltus 500 provides easy transportation and positioning in different conditions of visualization. The Soltus 500 system already got approval of regulatory bodies for sale in the USA.[1]
