2019: Announcement
At the beginning of December, 2019 Siemens Healthineers was provided by Somatom On.site, the mobile computer tomograph which can be used for inspection of patients in critical condition in intensive care unit.
A portable system saves from need to bring patients in the radiologist's office, allowing to execute scanning directly at the patient's bed. The doctor needs to remove only a headboard of a bed and to replace it with the mobile tomograph. Somatom On.site is equipped by the holder for the head who provides positioning of the patient, and telescopic construction removes a radiation source from the patient during inspection to reduce ghost effects, thereby reducing the probability of emergence of artifacts and increasing image quality.
Thanks to the intelligent user interface, myExam Companion which optimizes scanning parameters radiologists with the most different experience can use the Somatom On.site system. Right after scanning the doctor removes the device, returning a bed headboard, and the KT-scanner automatically sends meanwhile the received image to the general PACS system. The built-in camera provides control in real time during movement of a system, and the ergonomic handle attached to the tomograph allows to position precisely a radiation source concerning the patient.
Besides, the company provided a bonus computer system with one radiation source, Somatom X.cite. A system is also equipped by the intellectual assistant myExam Companion and a x-ray tube of Vectron with the maximum power of 1200 mA at stations of low tension of 70 or 80 kV providing a smaller dose of radiation and a high image quality.[1]
