TIBCO Spotfire 7.11

On December 4, 2017 the next version of a system of analytics of TIBCO Spotfire — 7.11 became available. The updated solution opens for users a possibility of change of data source or a part of the initial data table in one click and also a set of other useful options.

The main changes concern the following areas:

• Replacement of data source
  • Transition from test to the working database becomes significantly simpler. If in databases different names of tables are used, Spotfire finds and emphasizes these distinctions, simplifying the choice of the necessary table.
  • Editing connection to data is possible using several clicks in settings of the section of data sources now.

• Replacement of a part of data in the used sources
  • In addition to replacement of data sources, there was a possibility of replacement of a part of data in the existing sources and tables instead of complete evolution of the source now. For example, users can replace columns of the used tables with data, using data from other sources.

• Connection to SAP BW using API SAP BAPI
  • Now the connector SAP BW is complemented with an option of departure of requests in SAP BW using native integration of SAP BAPI of API without passing through API ODBO. It not only provides higher performance and more detailed information from SAP BW, but also simplifies work of users and allows to develop new functionality independently.

Tibco Spotfire Cloud provides the safe, flexibly configured platform for joint work and the analysis of corporate information, wide feature set of management allowing quickly and with a minimum load on IT department to place new analytical applications.

2012

In September, 2012 the TIBCO company released the new version of a corporate analytical packet of Spotfire, as one of principal components of which the implementation of programming language R which is widely used for statistical calculations created by the company serves. The most known implementation of language R freely is distributed under the license with the open code, but it seldom directly is applied in corporate business and analytical packets. TIBCO aims to offer the implementation of R which is commercially supported and integrated with its corporate developments under the name TIBCO Enterprise Runtime for R (TERR). The company considers that existence of such version will allow to refuse rewriting of the analytical algorithms created in language R on languages of corporate systems of SAS or Matlab how often occurs now.

The released free version of TERR extends separately from a packet of Spotfire and is intended for development and testing of programs for R. Integration of the code created with its help into other applications or use in a business activity requires purchase of the license.

2011

Spotfire 4.0

The Tibco company supplied in November, 2011 the system of the business analysis and data visualization of Spotfire with functions of social interaction, having integrated it with the portal Microsoft SharePoint platform and with the own Tibbr social platform. New opportunities will appear in Spotfire of version 4.0 appearing this month. Spotfire executes all processing in RAM. A system allows to create quickly evident data views and interactive dashboards.

Spotfire 4.0 allows to publish the created displays in the SharePoint portal, or customers will be able independently to integrate a system with other platforms of corporate portals. In Tibbr it will be possible to share the developments with other users and to discuss each publication within the branching discussion. Branches, according to settings, can be private or public.

In applications of Spotfire it will be possible to place windows of a video conferencing and a chat of Tibbr. It is also possible to connect the Wiki to a BI system, report in Tibco. According to representatives of the company, in Spotfire 4.0 the appearance of dashboards is improved — now they spend screen space more economically.
