2022: Announcement of the technology protection system against high-precision missiles

On August 24, 2022, Rostec demonstrated the work of a new system to protect military equipment from precision weapons. We are talking about aerosol ammunition.

Shells are fired from special installations and "hide" equipment behind a curtain of combined interference. Thanks to this, a high-precision rocket with laser or optical guidance loses contact with the target, goes off the attack course or continues to fly blindly - in inertial mode without accurate guidance on the target.

"Rostec" presented a system for protecting equipment from high-precision missiles

{{quote 'Tests have shown that the complex is able to protect equipment during the battle and on the march from anti-tank missiles, as well as from air attacks by high-precision aircraft weapons, "said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms, ammunition and special chemistry cluster. }} The complexes include attack warning sensors, control and indication equipment, launchers, as well as aerosol ammunition. The complex is capable of protecting equipment from high-precision weapons with laser, optical, thermal and radar guidance.

With new ammunition, it is planned to ensure the protection of the Uragan-1M multiple launch rocket systems, mobile reconnaissance posts for PRP-4A and PRP-5A, the TOS-2 flamethrower system and other military equipment.

The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH), which is part of Rostec, is developing a new complex of protection against precision weapons. This enterprise, as emphasized in the state corporation, has high competencies in creating optoelectronic means of protecting weapons and military equipment from high-precision enemy weapons. The company also manufactures serial defense systems for the Iskander operational-tactical missile system, the PRP-4A mobile reconnaissance post and other combat vehicles.[1]
