2020: The announcement of MR-155 of Ultima - the Russian Federation's first smart gun
On August 18, 2020 Kalashnikov announced as it approves concern, the Russia's first smart gun. It is connected to smartphones.
Innovation represents the updated modification of a smooth-bore fowling piece of MR-155 in the version of Ultima. It differs from normal model in futuristic design and existence of a certain built-in gadget.
Judging by the short video presentation from Kalashnikov, it is about the device reminding the mobile phone: there is a module Bluetooth, cellular communication and also the menu with such points as the camera, media, firing, time of setup and a compass. On a gun the collimator sight can be set. The possibility of synchronization with mobile devices is provided.
The public presentation of innovation will take place a framework of the international military and technical forum "Army-2020" which will take place from August 23 to August 29, 2020 in the Patriot park situated near Moscow. On this action, as expected, detailed opportunities of weapon will be published. The CEO of concern Dmitry Tarasov already showed a smart gun in operation on the page in Instagram.
MR-155 – the Russian autoloading fowling piece which is issued since 2011 and is development of MR-153. From the predecessor it is distinguished: the reduced weight, the reduced modification receiver length under a cartridge 12/76, the improved ergonomics.[1]
The CEO of Kalashnikov group Dmitry Tarasov told on Ultima MR-155 presentation that innovation will be made at the Izhevsk mechanical plant. For this purpose in September, 2020 new production capacities will open. The smart gun should go on sale at the beginning of 2021.
