2021: The announcement of VirtaMed - the platform for simulation of surgeries

At the beginning of February, 2021 the VirtaMed company started the platform for training of students and doctors of hysteroscopy and gynecologic laparoscopy in the mixed reality. When training an objective feedback is used and different pathologies with the increasing complexity of procedures, including with a possibility of complications are considered.

The VirtaMed program was updated for 2021 and now 16 cases of removal of fabric using the MyoSure system and also more than 50 cases of a polipektomiya, a miomektomiya, ablation of fabrics and an expanded electrosurgical resection include. Besides, in the program diagnostic cases are considered. The simulator of laparoscopy allows to place correctly tools and to locate the patient, surgeons and the assistant for the gynecologic procedure. Such approach makes available to the gynecologist-trainee the simulation model reflecting a real situation in the operating room.

Laparoscopic procedures can take a lot of time therefore VirtaMed separates larger transactions into the separate tasks training trainees to key skills. As a result doctors will learn to identify a mochetochnik, to estimate passability of uterine tubes and to carry out their alloying, will study different approaches at extra-uterine pregnancy. A feedback at capture and cutting of fabrics and also exact simulation of liquids reflect real experience of gynecologists.

The CEO of the company Raimundo Sierra noted the special importance of similar comprehensive programs of simulyatsionny training during a pandemic. All training programs still conform to recommendations and requirements of Council for accreditation of post-qualifying medical education, the European Council and Board of obstetrics and gynecology.^[1]
