2018: An algorithm exit for exact face recognition wearing spectacles
On February 23 the Panasonic company provided an algorithm for exact recognition of people wearing spectacles. According to developers, it is very difficult to deceive the program under name WV-ASF950.
The systems of face recognition provide rather high level of security, but many of them are inefficient if the person wears sunglasses or a surgical mask.
The new software for face recognition from Panasonic will be able to make it from an algorithm which, allegedly, five times more precisely, than the previous versions. A system will recognize persons with sunglasses or the persons turned by 45 degrees from the camera, and later the algorithm will also be applied to face recognition, closed by a surgical mask.
According to the Digital Trends edition, results of the cross-validation testings which are carried out by National Institute of standards and technologies (NIST) showed that the provided software increases efficiency of face recognition on value to 500% depending on a situation.
In development of Panasonic the principles of deep learning and the method of calculation of similarity allowing the program to distinguish persons in the most widespread scenarios are applied. In addition to the persons turned from the camera and sunglasses, the program is also capable to distinguish persons from the database which were made old in comparison with the image on the server.

Using AI settings of the camera are automatically optimized to provide the best exposure for obtaining video of higher quality. Besides, use of artificial intelligence significantly reduces device cost.
The WV-ASF950 program already began to be used in the products of Panasonic, and function of face recognition closed by a surgical mask will be added to a system until the end of 2018.[1]
