2021: On Windows 11, you can now run Android apps
October 20, 2021 it was announced the launch of the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) system, which allows you to run Android applications on Windows 11.
Microsoft released the first pre-release version of compatibility of its Android applications in Windows 11. It is available for testers in Windows 11 Beta Channel. To access, you need to participate in Windows Insider.
The specially designed Windows Subsystem for Android will provide work with Windows 11 and interaction in the background.
Android apps run on a virtual machine and can communicate with other Windows apps. The system allows you to pin Android applications to the Start menu or taskbar and use all the features of Windows 11 windows and multitasking.
Applications appear in search results as if they were regular Windows applications, integration in the Start menu and taskbar allows them to look the same as any other application, with the exception of inefficiencies and frequent software errors.
Microsoft, together with Amazon and its Amazon Appstore app store, opened access to download 50 apps from the Google Play Store. Apps can be installed by going to the Microsoft store, authorizing and going to Amazon Appstore through an Amazon account to access the store. Your computer must meet Microsoft's general Windows 11 requirements.
The initial release of Microsoft for the beta channel of the Windows preliminary assessment program also suggests that the function in the future may appear for everyone who uses Windows 11 much earlier than expected.[1]
