2025: Creating a Wi-Fi Zone

Tourists and employees of the Gazprom Polyana resort can now use digital services for free. MegaFon engineers, together with PJSC Gazprom, implemented a project to install a Wi-Fi zone that provides visitors to the resort with access to high-speed Internet. MegaFon announced this on April 22, 2025.

Wi-Fi points cover more than two kilometers of territories in the lower part of the resort - from the Galactica shopping and entertainment complex to the lower stations of the Laura and Alpika cable cars. The design of the location of more than 50 access points was carried out taking into account the analysis of the attendance of the locations. Their uniform distribution provides guests and staff with high-speed Internet up to 200 Mbps. The main connection is through the network of the Gazprom Polyana resort, however, under increased load, MegaFon's infrastructure is used. To do this, the operator's specialists constantly monitor the state of the network and carry out operational technical support.

The implementation of the project allows users to reduce the consumption of Internet traffic and share photos and videos for free, conduct live broadcasts. To connect, you only need a gadget with Wi-Fi support. Authorization takes place using registration via SMS or a call. Everyone can connect to the Internet, regardless of their mobile operator. The service makes it possible to connect about ten thousand people at the same time.
