"National Project" and GLONASS introduce unmanned road construction equipment on the highway M12

2025: Equipping the Vostok motorway section with a high-precision auto-driving system M-12

GC "National Project" and JSC "GLONASS" signed an agreement on strategic partnership. The cooperation is aimed at the joint development and introduction of unmanned technologies in the field of road construction. About this "National Project" reported on June 19, 2025.

The document was signed by Alexey Krapivin, Director General of the National Projectstroy Group of Companies, and Alexey Raikevich, Director General of GLONASS JSC, operator of the ERA-GLONASS state information system.

The national project is actively introducing advanced technological solutions at all stages of the life cycle of infrastructure facilities - from design to operation. We participate in the implementation of key transport projects of the country, including M-4, M-11 and M-12 routes. We are confident that the use of autonomous control systems will increase efficiency and reduce costs during the construction of highways, - said Alexey Krapivin.

As part of the pilot project, the partners equipped the road skating rink with equipment of the Russian high-precision auto-driving system developed by GLONASS JSC. Tests will be held on the section of the highway M-12 "Vostok" Durtyuli - Achit, the construction of which is carried out by the companies of National Project. The next step will be to scale the technology and use auto-driving on different types of road construction equipment.

Trajectory control of road construction equipment with centimeter accuracy is achieved thanks to the integration of a number of Russian technologies for high-precision navigation of GLONASS JSC and the state corporation Roscosmos, the creation of algorithms for controlling heavy production machines. Equipping skating rinks with our system will increase the quality and accuracy of all technological operations when laying the roadway, - said Alexey Raikevich.

The partnership also provides for the joint development of standards and regulations to ensure the safety of the operation of unmanned vehicles in road construction.
