2020: Pilot project of implementation of video analytical service of control of queue
The retail network of pet-shops in Russia Four Paws carried out a pilot project during which the efficiency of service of control of queue was shown. As the supplier the Ainerics company – VAaaS provider (video analytics as the service) using own modules of recognition acted. The provider reported about it on June 15, 2020.
The high level of customer service – one of priorities of retail chain stores "Four claws", along with the range of goods for pets, fast service. Queue at the checkout – one of immemorial problems of retail; the buyer can come up against this unpleasant situation in any shop. If the situation with queues repeats, it can lead to decrease in loyalty and provoke outflow of clients.
Understanding it, in November, 2019 top management of retail chain stores "Four claws" decided to make an experiment: use video analytics for automation of control over emergence of queues. General requirements were formulated: a system should scan a prikassovy zone, count the number of people in queue, when exceeding of the set threshold to send the notification to responsibles. Certain nuances were connected with need to distinguish buyers from the staff of shop – cashiers.
As a result of competitive selection implementation of a pilot project was charged to Ainerics company whose advantage played 2 pacing factors. First, implementation in the "video analytics as service" format was offered. The Ainerics command executed complex implementation, adaptation and setup of algorithms of recognition and the system of video analytics in general. The management of network received ready business solution in the order: permanent monitoring of queues, necessary operational notifications and regular reports.
Separate cashiers in a corporate uniform of "Four paws" from buyers of shops was a task, unusual, but clear for us, – Maxim Gorev, the director of the products Ainerics says. – Set of neural networks which we use for development and training of a video surveillance system allowed to achieve desirable result quickly. |
After carrying out a pilot project in one of outlets service of control of queue was implemented in several shops of network, all project took about two months. Results experiments are considered successful: a system with a high accuracy detects emergence of queues, sends notifications to managing shops to email, the SMS or to Telegram channel, regular reports on loading of cash desks form.
