The robot disinfector created by Sberbank passes test in the European medical center

2020: Testing of the robot disinfector

On April 29, 2020 Sberbank announced the beginning of testing of the robot disinfector of premises created for fight against viruses, including against COVID-19. Testing of a prototype takes place in the European medical center (EMS). The robot was developed by specialists of Laboratory of robotics of Sberbank in the shortest possible time for the help to doctors in treatment and prevention of diseases.

The robot can perform planned and emergency disinfection on the set program or for a personnel call. He is capable to process premises of different type: operational, patrimonial, resuscitation, chambers of a hospital and offices of doctors. The device is equipped with powerful ultra-violet lamps that provides destruction of 99.9% of all main pathogens, including a coronavirus — both in air, and on different surfaces.

The robot functions in several modes. Duration of processing of the premises is from 3–5 minutes to 10–12 minutes depending on its area, necessary level of disinfection and quantity of points of processing. For an hour the robot is able to process to 10 offices or up to 6 chambers of a hospital.

The device can work completely independently, but for the purpose of security is programmed so that to perform disinfection in an office or chamber, having only got approval from medical personnel. At emergence in the person disinfection process automatically stops. It is possible to manage the robot as far off, and via the screen display and voice messages.

Use of such robot in medical institutions will allow to reduce cardinally risks of spread of viruses and also to considerably reduce terms of preparation of the premises for acceptance of the following patient.

During testing in EMS scenarios of use of robotic disinfection in actual practice of medical institution will be fulfilled and to be carried out additional tuning of a prototype in its interaction with doctors. In case of successful testing, the robot will be finished taking into account all requirements and provided to the interested medical institutions.
