2020: Installation of servers of Lenovo for the VDI organization

On December 15, 2020 it became known that the Lenovo company together with VMware began project implementation on deployment of the VMware Horizon platform for safe providing virtual work places and applications based on servers of Lenovo in Gradiyent company. On the middle of December, 2020 the solution is integrated in the mode of trial operation in 100 workplaces, in the future is going to increase this quantity up to 600.

Virtualization of jobs will help the company to create the new geographically distributed branches in short terms and to manage them in the remote mode. Moreover, VDI will reduce maintenance expenses of IT infrastructure and acquisition of devices as allows employees to use the solution practically any PCs with the only requirement — the stable speed of Internet connection.

Due to this technology we for 5–6 years prolong the term of life of the end user device. It releases decent means — Andrey Smirnov, the head of IT department Gradient explains. — We involve those amounts which we would spend for acquisition of jobs or updating of the PC earlier in purchase of the software now.

According to our statistics Lenovo SR630 exceeds other five systems on performance though all of them are in one price category. I can tell that the division of Lenovo DCG became the worthy successor of IBM as regards DWHAndrey Smirnov comments.
