2019

On April 16, 2019 the Alpha Algoritm company reported that the international logistic company GRUBER Logistics works in the Russian cloud.

According to the company, GRUBER Logistics expanded the branch in Russia. With respect thereto the customer needed to provide employees to all necessary for work and to organize the uniform protected information space between the Russian branch and head office of the company in a short time.

Further use of IT infrastructure in Europe became difficult to the increased Russian branch — the load of the centralized technical support complicated by territorial remoteness and time difference increased. The management made the decision on need of local infrastructure for the office which is based in St. Petersburg.

The customer addressed the Moscow company "Alpha Algoritm" with the following requirements to the updated IT infrastructure:

  • compliance of FZ-242 of the Russian Federation and FZ-152 of the Russian Federation concerning personal data;
  • high data availability for employees who work "in fields";
  • integrability with the main IT infrastructure of head office.

The contractor, the Alpha Algoritm company, provided the following options for consideration:

The option with purchase of the equipment in property was unacceptable because of considerable starting investments, and introduction of the equipment to operation requires the accompanying costs in the form of the server premises, the cooling system, the system of uninterrupted power and also acquisition of software of Windows Server. Placement in Data center did not approach for financial reasons.

The economic component and speed of implementation of the solution were defining for the customer — the option using a cloud server was selected from Oblakoteka, to completely meeting statutory requirements and locating the license Windows Server as a part of service. Despite geographical remoteness of branches (the office of the customer is in St. Petersburg, and the contractor - in Moscow), preparation of necessary virtual IT infrastructure for the Russian office took only several days and consisted of the next key stages:

  • deployment of required virtual machines in Oblakoteka;
  • accounting system in Russia 1C on PostgreSQL DBMS (when using this scenario the server and client licenses is not required to purchase Microsoft Sql that also saves money of the customer at similar result);
  • the VPN setup for replication and the organization of access to an internal corporate portal and the central file resource between offices of the company.

For April, 2019 at the Russian office for connection to a terminal server thin clients are used, for employees remote access to a corporate portal and files of the central office is organized. The requirement of the legislation for personal data of the Russian Federation is observed. Quickly unrolled IT infrastructure easily is scaled and does not require big capital investments.

The cost of ownership of the virtual server in Oblakoteka in comparison with own IT infrastructure would even out only by third year. At calculation such costs as acquisition of server capacities with perspective of expansion of branch, purchase of the licenses Windows Server and ensuring safety and data recovery were considered.

The logistics is the very digital business completely dependent on the used technologies. The DPC and the equipment — it is too bulky and is initially expensive, and protection of PDN at office — just very heavy project. In Oblakoteka we received all this as service, having at the same time met all requirements and having got quick and high-quality access for employees in a business trip. The Alpha Algoritm company integrated the applied systems and provides their support. It what is necessary for our business.

The cloud project is always need to understand in details tasks of the client and to propose the most effective solution. In this project a strong linking of "Cloud Computing" – Alpha Algoritm gives at the same time both quality, and individualization of the solution that it is impracticable if cloud providers work with clients directly.
