Situation to the project

The project of support of IT infrastructure of IDGC of Centre and Volga region began in 2007 when in the course of reforming of power industry from structures of RAO UES of Russia a number of the interregional distribution grid companies was selected. Along with reorganization processes the management of JSC Nizhnovenergo which is a part of IDGC of Centre and Volga region made the decision on transfer of function on service of the IT infrastructure on outsourcing of Optima services Center company (earlier – SENAL LLC). Up to this point Optima services center within one and a half years already cooperated with JSC Dzerzhinsk Combined Heat and Power Plant, implemented a number of projects on service maintenance of IT infrastructure and SDTU for JSC Nizhegorodskoy Generiruyushchey Kompanii, Igumnovsky combined heat and power plant, JSC Energoremont.

For Nizhnovenergo the new equipment was purchased, under control of professionals modern technologies were implemented that allowed to bring the customer's IT infrastructure to essentially other level. Positive experience of one branch was extended to other 8 IDGC of Centre branches and Volga region. It expanded project geography to 9 regions and increased the staff of Optima services Center to 1200 specialists – service of all huge IT infrastructure of the customer which at that moment was still rather diverse was at the same time transferred to outsourcing.

Solution

In Optima services Center company also the distributed system of Service Desk allowing to manage flexibly and effectively processes of providing and support of IT services is used. In case of technical issues users of IT services of the customer can direct the request at any time, any available method and from any point of stay: the request immediately is registered, sent to the corresponding groups of specialists, and the problem is fixed in the shortest possible time. Optima services center started also corporate system of communications on the AVAYA platform in JSC Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Centre and Volga Region. Thereby there was an augmented list of the provided services within the project on support of an information system of IDGC of Centre and Volga region. The implemented communication system works based on IP technologies and differs in rich functionality, extreme flexibility and high degree of security of information.

Result

Having transferred service of own IT infrastructure to outsourcing, IDGC of Centre and Volga region had an opportunity to concentrate on the primary activity, without being distracted by the solution of non-core tasks and to use service of the high level of quality.
