Interdepartmental supercomputer center RAS (JSCC RAS) + ELAR Planskan

The interdepartmental supercomputer center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) held a public electronic auction for delivery of a set of the equipment for upgrade of a hardware-software complex of scanning for the purpose of creation of a new information resource. According to the results of an auction the contractor selects ELAR corporation.

The equipment of "ELAR" will add already existing scanning hardware-software complex for the purpose of the organization of production process of translation of books, magazines and newspapers in an electronic form and creations of a digital library "Scientific heritage of Russia".

Under the terms of the Contract the set of the equipment consists of the industrial book ELAR scanners. The planetary color scanner "Planskan With" is equipped with the built-in book cradle that allows to digitize old books with a thick back, and the absence in the device of a lighting system excludes harmful effects on originals. The optical system of 3D scanning which is built in in "Planskan And" analyzes and corrects curvature of book pages of the original, providing exact focus and a high image quality.
