At the beginning of September, 2019 the retail chain stores Intersection started the pilot on control of garbage removal according to the scenario of Internet of Things. According to X5 Retail Group, within the project in 50 supermarkets of network garbage containers were equipped with special sensors which keep track of their fullness in real time.
Information from sensors is processed by the system working by the principle of Internet of Things. When filling tanks more than a system sends the notification of administration of shop to two thirds and to the regional operator who is responsible for export of waste in specific supermarket.
The expected effect of implementation - to provide double control of timely emptying of garbage containers and to guarantee uninterrupted operation of process of maintenance of an order and purity in the territory adjacent to supermarket. Also at the expense of a system it is going to correct working schedules of the regional operator in supermarkets and to minimize cases of export of empty containers.
A developer of the sensors used in the project is Mikron. The same company together with her Russian contractors developed also IoT the solution, told TAdviser in X5.
The idea of the project appeared in X5 based on a meeting with Micron where they told about the technological capabilities. The similar solution was developed for municipal services, but X5 decided to use it for increase in discipline of garbage removal, - the representative of X5 explained TAdviser. |
Added to X5 that a system works in a standalone mode through a personal account so far, notifications on fullness of a garbage container come in the form of mail notifications to the musorovyvozyashchy companies and service of operation of Intersection.
Technologies of Internet of Things help to organize effectively the most different technology processes, including control of collecting of garbage. "Intersection" implements these "green" technologies the first and will not lose as the solution of control of municipal solid waste - it not only is responsible in relation to the environment, but also is effective for business, - the CEO of Micron Gulnara Hasyanova considers. |
Speaking about other potential directions of use of technologies of Internet of Things in retail, in X5 noted power saving, control of operation of the equipment and prediction of breakdowns, smart home appliances.
