2020: Transition to Astra Linux OS

On September 30, 2020 the Astra Linux Group company reported that it together with New System Technologies company upgraded and expanded the regional centralized system operating in the Irkutsk region "Management of ambulance and emergency medical service, including sanitary aircraft" with regional command center in "The Irkutsk regional center of medicine of accidents".

According to the company, the solution is constructed based on "Automated system of dispatching service of emergency medical service" (ADIS PC). For September, 2020 ADIS PCs under management OS Astra Linux Special Edition are equipped the divisions of services of fast and emergency medical aid which are not covered earlier. The project is implemented by specialists of New System Technologies company, the developer of a software package. It is planned that by the end of 2020 IT infrastructures of all divisions of the organization of the customer will be translated on domestic software. End user of the solution — "Irkutsk Regional Center of Medicine of Accidents" (IRCMA), body of daily operational management of Service medical of ambulance and medicine of accidents of the region. The staff of Services of ambulance and emergency medical service provides medical care to the population at injuries, poisonings, diseases and also statuses requiring urgent medical intervention including at emergencies.

As the platform for the updated infrastructure Astra Linux Special Edition as owing to specifics of our work the protected and reliable domestic software product is necessary was selected. Astra Linux OS as it already has the positive reference of application in a set of other organizations became an optimal solution, can ensure trouble-free and smooth functioning of the IT-system, and its functionality allows to carry out the tasks facing personnel of IOTsMK. During the project the contractor should not just set software in workplaces of employees, but also to permit a number of the unusual situations which arose during migration. In particular, it was necessary to resolve an issue with difficult setup of network connections and to provide training for system administrators who have not enough experience with the Linux-like systems.

That employees could use all advantages of the software solution, it was required to break their psychological barrier before transition from Windows OS to Astra Linux. Therefore the training center with the jobs equipped with Astra Linux OS was quickly created, rates for all users, especially senior generation who got used to Windows are organized.

The project of transfer to domestic of software of infrastructure of the center of medicine of accidents for September, 2020 is at the initial stage, and its implementation is seriously complicated by the extensive territory of the Irkutsk region with hardly accessible areas. Divisions of the medical organizations are territorially carried, and some of them are in remote localities. Despite geographical features of objects, specialists already set and configured the IT-system in 8 cities of area, and by the end of 2020 are going to equip with the Russian software of 260 more automated jobs in 32 cities.
