United Shipbuilding Corporation enterprises switched to domestic communications software

2021: Switch to CommuniGate Pro 6.3

Russian shipbuilding is switching to domestic software for communications. This was announced on July 15, 2021 by CommuniGate Systems.

CommuniGate Pro is used by more than 4 thousand employees of companies included in the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) of the enterprise, including TsMKB Almaz, ACT Arctic and Kronstadt Marine Plant. Cooperation with individual companies lasts more than 20 years.

As part of the digital transformation of the shipbuilding industry, these enterprises were among the first to decide to switch to the domestic communication platform CommuniGate Pro 6.3, the first version of which was created by Russian developers back in the 90s.

The reason for the replacement was that our previous decision worked with serious failures and missed a large number of spam messages. The management of the enterprise decided to conduct full-scale testing of several solutions for organizing corporate mail, in order to choose the optimal solution for functionality and cost of ownership, "said Anatoly Beloev, General Director of the Kronstadt Marine Plant.

CommuniGate Systems was faced with the task of implementing the migration of communication software in enterprises with a complex internal structure. At the same time, it was necessary to maintain a continuous communication process for employees and deploy the software "seamlessly." It was also necessary to integrate systems already existing in companies into the platform.

The transition was carried out in a short time and with modest hardware requirements - the CommuniGate Pro platform for 5 thousand users requires only 2 cores, 4 GB of RAM and a suitable storage system.

When choosing CommuniGate Pro, customers placed special emphasis on information security. The platform was originally designed to work in open networks and has an advanced tool to ensure data protection at both the server and client levels. This allows you to correctly design the security system for communication networks and close all "security doors."

The installation of CommuniGate Pro took into account all the features of the enterprise. For example, at the request of one of the customers, specialists deployed a closed and open information exchange loop, dividing communication networks into internal and external ones. In the future, CommuniGate Pro was fully combined with a comprehensive enterprise security system.

The synchronization of desktop and mobile clients with the server was established using the ActiveSync and MAPI protocols. The reliability and high security of this solution was confirmed by the 2020 lockdown - many employees of shipbuilding enterprises were able to work remotely, exchanging confidential information from personal devices without the risk of information leakage.
