Galex upgraded DPC of the Multifunction center of Altai Krai

February 16, 2015. The STC of Galex company completed the project on upgrade of the central DPC of the Multifunction center of Altai Krai.

With growth of the number of the public services provided through MFC also amount of data processed in the organization significantly increased. When for the existing configuration of DPC loading became critical, the leaders of the Multifunction center made the decision on need of increase in computing power of resources. The right to project implementation according to the results of tender was acquired by "Galex scientific and technological center" - the authorized partner of EMC.

Specialists of Galex company carried out the analysis of bottlenecks in work of the Data processing center on the basis of which they developed the project of upgrade including conversions of a complex of data storage and a backup system.

As the Customer already used the equipment of EMC which perfectly proved during operating time, for ensuring the best compatibility, a choice was made for benefit of this producer again. Specialists of Galex company picked up more productive DWH relating to one family from already operated EMC VNX.

The family of EMC VNX disk arrays implements technologies of a corporate class for data storage as in the form of files, and blocks within one unified platform. In these products the powerful and flexible equipment is combined with the advanced software tools of management of storage. The EMC VNX systems are capable to meet the highest requirements to performance and availability shown by medium-sized and large enterprises.

The set DWH of EMC VNX 5400 is created especially for the small and medium enterprises, capable to meet the royal requirements to performance and availability which put forward the medium-sized and large companies. A system has two controllers independent from each other working in the "asset" - "asset" mode that provides the high performance and reliability of data storage.

Upgrade concerned also a backup system. For storage of backup copies the EMC DataDomain 160 system with deduplication function is installed. This system gives revolutionary opportunities of backup, archiving and disaster recovery thanks to high-speed deduplication "on the fly". Deduplication allows to reduce at 10-30 times the volume of disk space which is necessary for storage and data protection.

The software of DDBoost which is a part of this system allows to carry out deduplication on client side that allows to transfer on network only the changed data and to a considerable measure reduces load of network equipment. The software of backup of Symantec Backup Exec 2014 provides reliable protection of a virtual and physical medium.

The executed solution finally promotes providing through MFC of the increased volume of public services without loss of speed and service quality of citizens.
