On December 4, 2020 it became known that the private medical center of Ulyanovsk protects data by means of the solutions "Akronis of ITProtect".

According to the company, work of MTs "Academy" infrastructure based on the server on which several virtual machines are turned provides development. Here the databases necessary for work of information systems are stored.

Our doctors actively use the digital systems by means of which work with clients is organized in the work. Considerable amount of data is generated by both the specialized medical systems, and these data are crucial for smooth operation of the center. Considerable part of information used by the center, data of the specialized medical systems. These are data of the laboratory systems, stories of diseases, results of diagnostic testings, appointments of doctors, etc. As well as any medical information, these data belong to the category of personal and require special attention, including – regarding ensuring safety and availability.

In MTs "Academy" systems backup of backup and data recovery were used for a long time. However, specialists of the center did not accept performances of these solutions. Denis Shilin notes that they differed in complexity of setup and use, a claim and to the speed of copying and data recovery was made.

IT service MTs "Academy" is well familiar with technologies of Acronis which were used in related structures of the center since 2006. When the leaders of the center made the decision on creation of a backup system of data which should provide all requirements of Academy, technologies of Acronis were considered as priority option. The low cost of the solution became an important circumstance also.

The backup system and data recovery on the basis of the solution "Akronis Data protection" was unrolled in infrastructure of MTs "Academy" since 2018. For December, 2020 with its help reservation servers based on is performed OS Windows and Linux, including in virtual environment where databases Oracle, MS SQL and others, ensuring functioning of information systems of the center are stored. The total amount of data, subjects to backup, reaches 3 Tbyte. System deployment was carried out by forces of IT department of MTs "Academy".

For usage time of the given system in infrastructure of MTs "Academy" there was an incident connected with malfunctions in operation of the equipment. According to Denis Shilin, failure managed without loss: information was completely and in short terms is recovered from backup copies with the help "Akronis Zashchita Dannykh".

MTs "Academy" are going to expand use of a system of data protection. Besides, in Academy are going to continue virtualization of the used infrastructure. In the center the separate server ensuring functioning of specialized medical information systems including – laboratory will be deployed. Besides, in plans of IT service "Akademii" — expansion of number of the used virtual machines (workstations and servers). Information which will be stored in this segment of infrastructure also will it is protected with the help "Akronis Zashchita dannykh".
