2020: Implementation of a RFID monitoring system and tracking of production processes

On July 20, 2020 the Aytiproyekt company announced end of a pilot project on implementation of a RFID monitoring system and tracking of production processes at "the digital plant" of NEVZ.

According to the company, in February, 2018 at the plant the large-scale project "NEVZ Digital Plant" under control of the general contractor – 2050-Integrator LLC company was started. The monitoring system and trackings of the movement of production facilities on a production chain based on technology of radio frequency identification (RFID) became one of the key implemented solutions. Works on design and system deployment were entrusted the Russian RFID integrator – Aytiproyekt company.

A RFID system based on the software of ITProect RFID Platform covered all requests of the client and provided the solution of an assigned task.

The NEVZ plant performs assembly of traction electric locomotives from the large parts and nodes arriving on the enterprise or made at the plant. It is a skeleton of the traction electric motor, a cart frame, an electric locomotive body, the cabin body, etc. For tracking of movement of assembly units all completing nodes and a turnover container before they leave a warehouse and will go to production workshops, UHF are marked by RFID tags in which the identifier tied to entry in the database registers. More than 130 stationary RFID readers installed on all inputs exits to production premises, flights and on assembly posts allow to trace automatically a process flow of the movement of parts and nodes and to control respect for technology and time of production, reading out identifiers of tags, and transferring him on corporate network to the database on the central server. A RFID system processes data retrieveds and, in case of a deviation from routes and standards, informs on it the manager.

The data transferred ITProect RFID by Server in a corporate system production managements 1C MES allow to perform effective planning, synchronization and automation of production processes.

For monitoring of production process at the enterprise the Situational center in which all information on the course of production process is flown down on the central server and it is brought to the videowall is equipped. In compliance with requirements of the customer, specialists of Aytiproyekt finished the ITProject Tracking System system which analyzes collected given and generates the tekstografichesky analytical reports providing information in a legible and clear form, allowing the manager to control a process flow and to react quickly to non-staff events. Information on deviations is duplicated also on an e-mail of the manager.

In the project the stationary RFID readers Impinj Speedway Revolution R420 and UHF RFID of a tag Omni ID Max intended for marking of metallic objects were used. For July, 2020 about 20 thousand UHF RFID of tags are in circulation, it is as much going to buy in the near future. For identification of objects, marking and control of movement in places where stationary readers are not installed, at the enterprise use the manual mobile RFID readers Chainway C72 with the software of ITProject Mobile Tracking set on them.

Practically at once after start of a RFID system already at a stage of trial operation it became clear that in a process flow of a production chain there are deviations and not all production processes are synchronized on time.

Now, thanks to implementation of RFID technology, management of the enterprise can obtain all necessary information on production process when and where it is necessary, on all production chain and product lifecycle. The RFID technology allowed to automate accounting of Inventories and to reduce unproductive time in production processes. As expect at the enterprise, the RFID monitoring system of movements of the inventory items (II) will allow to make quickly decisions for ensuring rhythm of production at all main stages of a technology chain and to increase system effectiveness of planning. Besides, a RFID system will allow to exercise operational management of a remaining balance of materials, thanks to fast inventory in workshops, to simplify purchase planning of raw materials for accomplishment of production schedules, to protect from defects, to provide transparency of accounting of Inventories, to provide tracing of all lifecycle of parts.

In general, a RFID system became a basis of the centralized digital platform allowing to accumulate information connected with technology and the organization of production processes which analysis will allow to increase efficiency and performance of production in the future.

The project on implementation a RFID monitoring system and trackings of movement of production facilities on a production chain based on technology of radio frequency identification (RFID) will become the base for development of a control system of product lifecycle from production, transfer to operation, setting on service and repair – before write-off.
