"Transport systems" uses VDI technology based on Nvidia Grid

2021: Use of VDI technology

On February 5, 2021 the WIAT company reported results of seven-flight cooperation with "the PC the Transport systems".

PK Transportnye sistemy LLC for February, 2021 has several production sites in the different cities. For creation of the unified information system in the company the VDI technology (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is used. This technology was selected because it allows to solve problems of the distributed production:

• provides the high level of mobility of remote users and data security;
• reduces costs for IT, simplifying procedures of service and support of jobs.

The PC Transport Systems company is engaged both in production of mobile city transport, and its design. The problem of creation of high-performance jobs for the staff of design office is solved based on Nvidia Grid. The Nvidia Grid technology provides full compatibility with architecture of VDI and at the same time allows to distribute rationally computing resources between needs of different users.

At the initial stage of implementation as the client equipment zero clients Dell Wyse of P25 with support of the PCo protocol were used IP. For February, 2021 in IT- an arsenal of the company thin clients of Dell Wyse 3040 with support of PCoIP and Blast. Both protocols of remote access proved from the best party. Taking into account compatibility of products of the companies Dell, VMware and Nvidia, protocols provide all complex of requirements for information infrastructure of production processes and design.

Thanks to already unrolled system based on VMware Horizon, creation of safe remote jobs takes minutes and it turns out less costly.

The PC Transport Systems company received the increased security, convenience and flexibility at deployment and service of jobs, it provided reduction of finance and labor costs.

Work experience of a system in branches of the company shows that architecture of VDI — a right choice. It is already difficult to provide as the technology of interaction of this complex of productions without this system would be organized.
