ABB, the company in the field of industrial automation and solutions for power engineering specialists, became the official supplier of infrastructure for the Japanese electric vehicles, including Taycan — completely electric car Porsche Japan which should appear in the market in 2020. ABB and Porsche Japan will combine efforts to develop the next generation of the charging stations with power more than 150 kW conforming to requirements of the standard of fast charging of CHAdeMO. It became known on April 22, 2019.
In accordance with the terms agreements, Porsche Japan will install high-power charging sets of ABB in the Porsche centers and public places for all Japan, having created thus network of stations of fast charging for the electric vehicles. The first station should be set in the middle of 2020.
Japan aims to reduce emissions carbonic and other greenhouse gases which cause global warming therefore the government of the country set the object by 2050 to leave only electric or hybrid cars on sale. ABB works more than 10 years at the market of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and will become the reliable partner for Japan in the field of electrification of the transport system. ABB is a founder member of CHAdeMO and Association of standards of charging infrastructure of CCS and also the title sponsor of the Formula E championship within which to a track there are racing electric vehicles.
Having integrated experience of ABB in questions of charging of electric vehicles with developments of Porsche in the field of high performance, we will move to higher level of development of steady automobile infrastructure and we will create necessary conditions for reduction of harmful emissions in Japan to zero. Thanks to partnership with ABB we will be able to offer customers high-performance network of fast charging to the world. By 2025 a half of the Porsche cars will have the electric drive. We are going to release either hybrid, or completely electric models. Therefore creation of infrastructure for fast charging has huge value for owners of electric vehicles.
