2024: Installation of ATP AWS on Astra Linux OS

Astra Group and the My Documents public services centers of St. Petersburg are developing cooperation. Each of the 68 MPSC has automated workstations of the user support sector (ATP AWS) under the control of OCAstra Linux. Astra Group announced this on September 9, 2024.

There are 107 of them now. In addition, five centers are equipped with classrooms for 5-6 computers running Astra Linux. There are classes for residents in digital literacy, basic knowledge of information security and information protection is taught. Students acquire skills in working with domestic IT products.

ATP AWS are intended for independent appeal of citizens for state, municipal and other related services, and services. In fact, the ATP AWS is a publicly accessible automated workplace for everyone who wants to independently gain access to certain information resources necessary to receive public services. Statistics of visits to information resources are collected from the ATP AWS to further calculate the number of requests from citizens and assess the work of specialists providing assistance to them. The built-in graphical shell on these computers is stylized as the corporate corporate style of the My Documents brand. The volume of requests for state and municipal services through the ATP AWS is over 13% of the total number of calls to the MPSC.

In the centers of public services of the city, the server infrastructure also operates on Astra Linux 1.7 OS (it is planned to transfer to version 1.8) for centralized management of the machine pool and collection of statistics of calls (visits to Internet resources) from the user support sector. In addition, at the moment, the MPSC of St. Petersburg is experimentally operating ALD Pro in order to put the domain into commercial operation during successful tests of Astra Linux version 1.8.

The safety of applicants' personal data is a priority for organizing the work of the MPSC. In self-service systems that are installed in the public access of visitors to centers, this is especially important. It is necessary to automatically exclude the possibility of data leakage, including due to the carelessness of the user. The use of solutions based on Astra Linux in the user support sectors fully meets our requirements. We were able to quickly launch the project and scale it up in a short time. The simplicity and safety of registration of services in self-service mode is confirmed by the high popularity among visitors to the MPSC, - said Maxim Alexandrov, director of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution "MPSC."

This project has successfully combined key factors for effective import substitution of technologies. This is a very close collaboration of the developer's experts with the engineers of the IT department of the MPSC, and at the same time taking care of ordinary users and their training in interacting with domestic IT products. Accelerated development of Russian software is possible only when all categories of users are well acquainted with the Russian operating system: an ordinary employee of the MPSC, a visitor recording a child in kindergarten, and a doctor in a clinic conducting an examination of this child before September 1, and a kindergarten employee taking him to a nursery, etc. Astra Group is truly happy to help in this city. Our team is in constant contact with specialists from the MPSC of St. Petersburg. And in the future, we will continue to strengthen our cooperation, - said Anton Ogorodnikov, Deputy Director of the Regional Development Department in the North-West Federal District of Astra Group.
