2020: Use of IVA AVES at protection of final qualification works

In the Russian state hydrometeorological university by means of the domestic IVA AVES S system – joint development of Scientific Research Institute Masshtab of Avtomatika Concern of State Corporation Rostec and STC of Haytek – there took place remote protection of final qualification works. The Avtomatika Concern reported about it on July 15, 2020.

Protection of the final qualification work (FQW) is the final stage of training of students in the direction selected by them. In the conditions of a pandemic the action took place in remote the mode. Carrying out protection of students at the hydrometeorological university of St. Petersburg was organized in the system of the protected video conferencing of IVA AVES S.

After the organization and carrying out protection of theses using the equipment of Scientific Research Institute Masshtab of Avtomatika Concern specialists of the hydrometeorological university already consider acquisition and implementation of the complete solution for creation of digital educational space which the system of the protected video conferencing IVA AVES S and the virtualization platform of desktops Veil VDI enter. We intend and to expand and improve further a product line for creation of digital educational space and also ensuring efficiency of different business processes of our customers, - the CEO of Avtomatika Concern Vladimir Kabanov told.

During protection at the room at the same time there were 33 persons: 7 members of the state certifying commission and 26 students protecting VKR. Participants could enter the room via the browser or mobile application. Also there was an opportunity to make connection, using both formats at the same time.

Especially for an action the instruction for students and members of the commission adapted for different browsers thanks to which users had no problems with connection and further work in a system was developed.

After acquaintance with the instruction I asked users to make trial run to the room for testing already directly of the interface of the program. Also it was necessary to check the equipment for an exception of failures during protection. The truth during protection there were difficulties because of the untimely message about lack of the working equipment at one of students, but we quickly solved a problem, having connected it through mobile application, – the expert of Scientific Research Institute Masshtab Maria Kalambet told.
