2022: Warehouse Automation
First Bit on September 23, 2022 announced the automation of the warehouse complex of the national chemical distributor Ruskhimset according to modern digital standards. Compared to other warehouses of the company, the labor costs of employees in it are lower by 20%, and the average turnover of stocks was increased by 30%.
In a short time, the company received an efficient and easily scalable tool ready for operation for operational accounting of the movement of material values based on the latest version of the 1C:WMS.
Warehouse management now takes place in the real time one, so there is no chance for items to "get lost." - WMS the system regularly exchanges information with the corporate information system, avoiding discrepancies between accounting data and reality.
All business processes related to logistics were configured and debugged for the realities of a particular facility and industry of the chemical industry. It was necessary to take into account both the unusual topology of the warehouse itself, which has 2 mezzanines, and the complex rules for the storage and neighborhood of various chemicals: combustible, toxic, flammable, corrosive, corrosive, cosmetic and food.
A system for distributing goods through intermediate points has been invented. Now some employees remove products from the racks and leave them in a special transit zone, while others pick them up there and take them to their destination.
Together with the system itself, 20 data collection terminals were put into operation. Thanks to them, many routine data entry operations have been fully automated.
The project included not only accounting and automation, but also functionality for managing employees - distributing tasks by teams, calculating piecework wages. Also, experts from the First Bit trained all current employees to work correctly with equipment and programs.
It is already noticeable that the automated warehouse complex works more efficiently than other warehouses of the company. Real-time monitoring made it possible to better manage existing stocks, increasing their turnover by 30%. Automation of routine operations and well-thought-out business processes accelerated the processing of orders by 25%.
The customer is satisfied with the project and continues to invest in its development. Next in line is the creation of an algorithm for automatic selection of storage bins for goods based on many factors, as well as the introduction of a yard management system (access control, cars automation of loading gates).
