2019: Installation of ELARSKAN A2
On January 29, 2020 the Elar company reported that using a complex of planetary scanning of ELARSKAN A2 for the Evenki centralized library system rare local history books about Evenkia and Krasnoyarsk Krai will be digitized.
Evenkia is the geographical center of the Russian Federation, the region comparable by the size with the certain countries. More than 90% of Evenkia are a primitive untouched taiga, the main population lives in Baykita, Vanavare and Toure. The Evenki centralized library system is the network integrating 10 libraries for January, 2020 main of which - the Central library - is in Tura. It is the coordinating center for all libraries of the area, focuses at itself all necessary information, methodical materials, concentrates special fund of local documents, develops modern technologies.
The general fund of libraries is universal according to contents and the big range of documents of different formats and on different carriers includes: books, periodicals, audiovisual and electronic documents. In 2019 the general fund made 171,449 units of storage and its important part – local history literature. The sector of local history literature of the Central library of the settlement of Tura which was created by search in archives and libraries of other departments, in private collections of scientists from among indigenous people, in exchange collections of libraries of Russia is engaged in preserving and development of the Evenki culture and language.
In 25 years the big fund for the history of the native land is brought together. For the end of January, 2020 it contains about 1573 copies of books and brochures, from them in languages of the people of Russia – 482 units of storage. We carefully store books by the Evenki poets and writers and also books with autographs and dedicatory inscriptions. Pride of fund are books which are dated 1936 and 1940. The sector of local history literature is replenished also with periodicals, among them: "Our Krasnoyarsk Krai", "Krasnoyarsk worker", World of the North, "Northern open spaces", "Young local historian", "Evenki life", tells the associate director on library work Natalya Gennadyevna Yakovleva

According to library workers, pupils of high schools, students of technical schools, the staff of the ethno-pedagogical center and center of folk art for writing of books on history and the culture of Evenkia constantly address local history information. Therefore using Elarskan first of all bound files of periodicals and also the most demanded and inaccessible local history books published by special scientific and educational institutions will be digitized. Among them, for example, "There is the Russian-Evenki dictionary (for the Evenki/Tungus elementary school" (Vasilevich G.M., 1950), "Modern economy, culture and life of small peoples of the North" (institute of ethnography of N.N. Miklukho-Maclay, 1960), "V.I. Lenin and small nationalities of the North" (Uvachan V.N., 1963).
Frequent copying of books and the periodical press results in fast wearability of the paper original. Therefore digitization of fund of local history editions for the Central library of the settlement of Tura and residents of Evenkia is particularly acute most. Using Elarskan, purchased thanks to participation of the Evenki centralized library system in the State program of Krasnoyarsk Krai "Assistance to development of local government", we have an opportunity to create qualitative electronic copies of documents and, thereby, we make local history information available to everyone, at the same time ensuring safety of paper originals, comments Natalya Gennadyevna Yakovleva
