2021: Implementation of Production Data Collection and Analytics
At the beginning of 2021, Volga Gas (GazNefteService LLC) completed a pilot implementation of a production data collection and analytics system based on the Azure IoT cloud platform from Microsoft. The partner in the development of the draft solution and integration was GK "GlowByte," which the latter announced on April 2, 2021.
The purpose of the project was to create a single analytical archive of technological data for data analysis by production process engineers. It was also important for the company to learn how to form an open data interface (OpenAPI), which allows you to quickly and safely obtain data for piloting innovative solutions.
We strive to fully digitize the production process and use current trends in working with data. This project improved the process of integrating data with third-party services: BI system, Dynamics ERP, database and contractor systems, and improved data quality and consistency. The project also made it possible to more flexibly manage the infrastructure and provided a platform for the further development of digital solutions, said Lobanov Vladimir, Director of Information Technology of Volga Gas.

The implemented system uses a hybrid architecture for, industrial Internet of Things in which some components are deployed locally and some are based on - PaaS resolutions in. cloud Azure This approach provides high reliability, flexibility and security of the solution, which is especially important for production tasks. Automatically scaling cloud resources allows you to focus on key manufacturing tasks and minimize non-core activity on ongoing infrastructure technical support.
Our project is a good example of using flexible cloud approaches to achieve quick results. In a short time, we were able to focus on implementing useful functions for the customer instead of organizing the infrastructure. Although most of the Azure services used in the project were new in the company, and during the piloting we identified their best combination both in terms of meeting the requirements and from the position of balanced TCO, noted Tomilov Alexander, head of the industrial Internet of things group of companies' GlowByte '.
