Mail.ru Cloud Solutions won the competition and began implementing the X5 Retail Group dynamic infrastructure platform. This was announced on April 21, 2020 by the customer himself.

The Mail.ru Cloud Solutions platform will become one of the important elements of the digital transformation of the X5 Retail Group, providing a set of cloud solutions IaaS, PaaS and SaaS for DevOps engineers.

The introduction of the Mail.ru Cloud Solutions enterprise cloud platform will allow X5 Retail Group to easily scale its IT infrastructure and implement projects of any complexity. MCS solutions will reduce the time and cost of implementing projects, as well as monitor infrastructure load in real time, which will enable more accurate forecasting of IT purchases. A cloud-based development environment with ease of use, a wide range of storage systems, and a complete set of tools for development teams, enabling three times faster commissioning.

The centralized platform will allow the company to reduce infrastructure costs by implementing a more efficient virtualization system with shared services, data backup, and centralized maintenance. X5 Retail Group also plans to integrate the corporate format of providing resources "by subscription" to internal divisions of the company, which will allow regulating infrastructure costs through transparent pricing and the ability to independently scale the allocated capacity.

At the start of the collaboration, X5 Retail Group will use 800 virtual machines on the MCS platform with further annual growth.
