SAP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) provides process automation of project management and considerably facilitates management of project portfolios.
Project portfolio management
- Maintaining structure of an investment program with a possibility of aggregation of indicators from the level of separate projects on the level of investment programs and portfolios. Simultaneous use of several alternative structures (representations) of an investment program is allowed;
- Support of process of financial planning and control of project implementation, investment programs, project portfolios. Flexible determination of structure of financial performance. Possibility of planning and accounting of natural indicators of the project;
- Process automation of ranging of projects at selection in an investment program on the basis of formal indicators and expert evaluations;
- Support of management processes at the level of a project group;
- Support of a geytovy lifecycle model of the project. Planning of phases and points of decision-making. Flexible determination of conditions of change of a phase. Entering into the system of the decision on phase completion with a possibility of use of the EDS. Support of different lifecycles, depending on project type;
- Automation of the approved change management process at the level of an investment program.
Management of separate projects
- Full-function support of scheduling and network planning. A possibility of planning of terms in different cuts: the approved, forecast, early, late, actual terms;
- Support of classification and prioritizing of tasks. Support of different relationship types of tasks;
- Possibility of authority delegation on management of a branch of the scheduling and network diagram;
- Support of process of accumulation of project experience. Possibility of preserving and use of templates of projects and project documents;
- Automation of process of coordinated management by project changes. Possibility of storage of the change history. An output of the comparative chart Ganta for different versions of the project;
- Control of deviations of project implementation settings on the basis of a system configured conditions and checks. A possibility of the notification of responsible persons at emergence of the situations requiring attention or intervention.
Management of project resources
- Planning of role structure of the project and role labor costs on tasks;
- Appointment of employees to roles taking into account their qualification and loading;
- Possibility of authority delegation to destination employees for project roles to heads of resource pools. Possibility of introduction of candidates for project roles;
- Accounting of the actual labor costs and percent of the actual execution of works by project roles and tasks;

Work with project documents
- Document storage in a binding to the main control objects of a system, including to projects, phases, tasks;
- Joint work with documents with a possibility of the organization of access for external partners. Process control of approval of documents in a system, the configured status schemes of approval;

- Maintaining template library of documents.
Integration opportunities
- Integration with external systems of scheduling and network planning (Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera);
- Possibility of implementation of a binding to the SAP PPM project and also its phases and separate problems of objects of the SAP ERP system (project definitions PS, SPP elements, headings and elements of the network diagram, orders and purchase order items MM, internal orders CO and others). Data of linked objects of SAP ERP are available to the analysis and control in functionality of the analytical reports SAP PPM (with a possibility of the notification of responsible persons about deviations);
