Tetra Pak is a multinational company of Swedish origin, a well-known manufacturer of packaging and equipment for the food industry.

Activity

Tetra Pak is the world's largest supplier of cardboard packaging for liquid products. The company also produces packaging and food equipment.

It is interesting that despite the widespread use of the name "Tetra Pak" in everyday life to refer to cardboard packaging, the Swedish company does not have such a brand - products are produced under the brands Tetra Classic, Tetra Wedge Aseptic, Tetra Rex, Tetra Top, Tetra Brik Aseptic and Tetra Brik. The company even launched a marketing campaign called "Tetra Pak is a company, not a package" ("Tetra Pak is a company, not a package") to get rid of this stereotype.

Sales of the company for 2011 amounted to 10.36 billion euros, which is 5% higher than in 2010.

Packaging sales for this year reached €9.2 billion, up 3% from 2010 levels, driven by strong growth in South and Southeast Asia, Central and South America, China and sub-Saharan Africa.

Technology equipment sales rose nearly 23% from the previous year to reach 1.2 billion euros, helped by double-digit growth in North America, China, South and Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and Oceania, as well as Europe.

Tetra Pak has introduced a number of new products and solutions - both technological and packaging, designed with specific tasks in mind regarding performance, environmental characteristics, convenience or differentiation.

Process equipment:

  • Tetra Albrix is a highly efficient module for sugar dissolution that reduces operating costs and reduces environmental impact. Modular design allows for expansion and upgrade of the plant.
  • Tetra Tebel Blockformer is a new generation module for the production of cheddar cheese. Reduces operating costs and minimizes product losses.
  • Tetra Alcip is an intelligent, non-disassembly washing system with a new automation platform that provides an impeccable level of product safety, reducing environmental impact and production costs.
  • PlantMaster monitoring system developed jointly with Brazilian food company Aurora. Allows you to increase production efficiency and brand value.

Among the packaging solutions in 2011, the following were presented:

  • Tetra Evero™ Aseptic is the world's first aseptic cardboard milk bottle;
  • Tetra Brik® Aseptic Edge with characteristic beveled top edge and LightCap 30 screw cover;
  • DreamCap™ - ergonomic lid designed specifically for the consumption of drinks on the go;
  • LightCap™ - a lid to minimize the use of plastic, which is especially important for large covers;
  • HeliCap™ - a cover that combines easy opening and a special opening indicator, which provides consumers with convenience and confidence in the safety of the product.

An important step towards its goal of producing 100% renewable packaging was the joint project of Tetra Pak and Nestlé Brazil to produce two popular brands of milk in Tetra Brik® Aseptic packaging with a lid made of "green" polyethylene.
