1970: Monument to Lenin on the island of Capri
Lenin visited the island twice, in 1908 and 1910, during the period of work (1906-1913) of the party school under the leadership of Lunacharsky.
In the 1960s, the mayor of Capri commissioned a monument to Lenin by the famous Italian sculptor Giacomo Manz. Made of Carrara white marble, a 5-meter pylon with a bas-relief of Lenin was installed on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Lenin on April 22, 1970 in the gardens of Augustus.
