Biography

Sebastian Tolstoy is a great-great-grandson of the writer Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy, told TAdviser in Ericsson.

1996: Start of work in Ericsson

Sebastian Tolstoy started a career in Ericsson in 1996 and for years of work in the company took the different leading positions in many countries of the world.

During the period from 1996 to 2009 he directed work with clients in Sweden, Russia, the USA and Japan. Since 2009 was responsible for prodakt-management, business development, strategic and marketing communications.

Among Tolstoy's achievements in the company call a repozitsionirovaniye of the GSM (2G) standard, transformation of work in the field of research and development (R&D) and prodakt-management. Also it made a contribution to creation of a basis for the new strategy of Ericsson in the field of wireless communication as a result of which the product portfolio of Ericsson Radio System which received several awards and the innovation concepts, among which plug-ins 5G was started.

2017: The head of Ericsson in Russia

In July, 2017 Ericsson announced Sebastian Tolstoy's appointment the head of division of the company in Russia. He will be responsible for development of new strategy of Ericsson directed to strengthening of technological leadership of the company in the market, increase in profitability and ensuring success of business of clients and partners. At the same time the main attention will be paid to joint promotion of products and services, growth of efficiency for the maximum meeting requirements of customers.

In addition, Sebastian will be responsible for the tasks facing the company connected with development of a 5G, Internet of Things, cloud computing and digitalization of business of partners of Ericsson in 12 countries including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Mongolia, etc.

Tolstoy will combine the management of division of Ericsson in Russia with a position of the vice president for sales in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

To Sebastian Tolstoy the Russian division of Ericsson was headed by Zoran Lukovic. The company specified Tadviser that it continues to work in Ericsson. For Lukovic there is still an area of responsibility on business development with telecom operators in Russia.
