The Flint Capital fund invested in the developer of the AgeTech-solutions Sensi Ai

As it became known on December 24, 2020, the venture fund with the Russian roots Flint Capital invested $1 million in Sensi Ai. The round according to the results of which Flint received a small minority share in the Israeli project was carried out by sowing (seed). More detailed details of the transaction are not disclosed. In particular, the estimated value of a startup according to the results of investment is unknown. Read more here.

At the end of 2020 the portal of EU Startups published the list from five promising European startups specializing in creation of digital technologies for elderly people - the most fast-growing demographic group in the EU.

1. No Isolation is the Norwegian startup founded in October, 2015. Its purpose - to reduce feeling of loneliness and forced social isolation of certain people by development of special tools of communication. Their first product was focused on handicapped children, and the second - on elderly people. KOMP is a screen with one button which accepts images, text messages and video calls, helping the elderly people living far from the families to communicate with family more often.

2. Birdie, the London startup founded in 2017 represents the complex platform on leaving. Its products help elderly people to live in own houses independently. Birdie uses the applications and devices connected to the house for control of wellbeing of elderly people in real time. Besides, Birdie carries out analytics of data on health of the ward to provide better prevention of diseases. Birdie has four key functions: the manager of drug intake, a task scheduler, the application for leaving and the family application. The manager of drug intake creates the schedule, monitors drug intake and sends warning at emergence of problems. The task scheduler allows to create individual plans for each visit of the doctor. Both functions can be combined with the application for the persons performing leaving and with the family application when health of the elderly person is kept track by his relatives.

3. The Swedish startup of Nectarine Health (before Noomi) is solution AI for remote leaving, developed for the help to elderly people. The easy and long-lasting bracelet of Nectarine collects data which are routed live on a cloud platform through one or several nodes. The artificial intelligence allows to reveal emergencies and significant changes in everyday life of the person, and medics get access to notifications and analytical data through mobile and web applications.

4. Cettefamille founded in 2016 in Normandy in the north of France represents network of professionals and the accredited families which helps elderly people to live in cozy houses. The startup offers a convenient individual alternative to group accommodation in nursing homes and pension communities. The accepting family studies care of aged and will be accredited in state bodies. At the same time the cost of living in such family of the elderly person is two-three times lower, than in traditional nursing homes. Cettefamille also proposes individual solutions for the organizations and the companies working with elderly people and persons with limited autonomy.

5. The London SuperCarers founded in 2014 represents the online platform helping families to find the experienced accredited persons performing care of elderly people in their area. SuperCarers differs from other leaving agencies in the fact that personalizes selection of the employee and provides to users tools for leaving coordination. At the same time users will be able to select the specific mode (for example, day or night) or flexible hours when trustees come to time. SuperCarers also offers specialized home visiting service at certain states of health, such as arthritis, cancer, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism, limited mobility, neurologic statuses and even palliative care.[1]
