All-Russian meeting of system administrators

History

In 2006 in community "System Administrator Too Person" there was an idea to hold the festival of system administrators dated for celebration of Day of the system administrator outdoors. It was offered to hold an event near Kaluga, near the village of Kolyupanovo, on the Glade of Meetings on the river bank of Vyrk. With assistance of Softline company the action was organized in the shortest possible time (approximately in three weeks) and for the first time brought together about 350 participants from all Russia. Thanks to information support of media the event was widely covered across all Russia.

28.07-30.07.2006  — The first All-Russian Meeting of System administrators. The meeting was attended by about 350 people from 30 cities of Russia.
27.07-29.07.2007  — The second All-Russian Meeting of System administrators. The number of participants came nearer to 1500 people, arrived more than from 100 cities of Russia and the CIS countries.
25.07-27.07.2008  — The third All-Russian Meeting of System administrators. Participants about 2400 of 174 cities.
31.07-02.08.2009  — The fourth All-Russian Meeting of System administrators. The meeting was attended by more than 4000 people from Russia and the countries of the CIS-Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Moldova

Venue

The meeting is held on a big forest glade (known as "A glade of meetings") near Kaluga on the river bank of Vyrk near the village of Kolyupanovo, approximately to 190  km from Moscow and 10  km from Kaluga. Exact location coordinates of holding the Meeting  — 54 ° 25' 26" N, 36 ° 13' 06" E (N 54.423308 °, E 36.218293 °).

Logo

Official logo of the Meeting is stylized under the road prohibition sign  — the logo containing the image of the crossed-out teapot. This sign symbolizes the ironic attitude of system administrators towards novice users the computer whom on a slang they call by "teapots".

Participants of the Meeting and how to be registered

For participation in the Meeting system administrators, IT specialists and also the people who are directly connected with the computer are invited. Arrival on the Glade of friends and families of participants is welcomed. Participants of the Meeting are residents of more than 100 cities of Russia and also the CIS countries. The city, most remote from the venue, from which to the Meeting there arrived a participant  — Khabarovsk. It is possible to be registered on the Meeting on the official site of the Meeting  — http://sletadminov.ru/ Participation in this action absolutely free. Also for especially shown activity it is possible to win deserved prizes.

Program of the Meeting

The program of the Meeting is expected 3 days. Arrival of participants and arrangement of the tent town and, of course, a meeting with friends and new acquaintances assumes the first day. The main program of an action falls on the second day. There take place the main tenders and quizzes of the program of the Meeting:

• throwing of mice and keyboards on the accuracy and range;
  
• World Cups, to volleyball, badminton, darts;
  
• quest on location for participants;
  
• different tenders from sponsors of the Meeting;
  
• a lottery by numbers of participants;
  
• tender on the best effigy of the lamer;
  
• a big "pioneer" fire in which burn effigies of lamers;
  
• colourful fireworks;
  
• disco;
  
• competitions in laying of a computer network on location.
  

On Sunday sisadminsky exercises and official closing of the Meeting are done.

Conditions of holding festival

Participants of the Meeting live in the tourist tents under the open sky on the river bank. On the Meeting hot meals are organized and also on sale different food are available. Communication on the Meeting is performed with the help the Internet on Wi-fi technology. Communication is absolutely free. For cellular communication  — network of operators of the GSM standard Beeline and MTS with support of EDGE, but for a normal payment.

Sponsors

Organizers of the Meeting recruit sponsors. Among them the known IT companies, such as Microsoft, Mail.ru, Symantec thanks to which it is possible to organize such grandiose mass IT event with various tenders, quizzes, the championships. Award deserved prizes to winners of tenders and tournaments.
