2023: Electronic shelter access system launched in Kyiv
An electronic system for accessing shelters was launched in Kyiv. This was reported in the Kyiv City Military Administration (KGVA) at the end of June 2023.
It is explained that the system of automatic access to the shelter has four independent options for opening doors:
- automatically when an air alarm is declared in the city;
- remotely by the dispatcher through the communication of the intercom;
- a physical "key" (like a key to a regular intercom);
- through a pin code that is generated in the Telegram bot "Bomb Shelter of Kyiv."
All four options work independently of each other and provide unobstructed access under any conditions. The KGVA stressed that in case of a power outage, the system has a backup source - its own battery.
The exit from the closed shelter is contactless - just bring your hand to the touch button.
The dispatcher has the ability not only to open the door and keep voice communication with visitors to the storage, but also to monitor the health of the system. And in the event of malfunctions or technical problems, the dispatcher can quickly call for technical support to restore the equipment.
| The manufacture and installation of such a system requires a certain time and funding. But, after launching this first system, we will systematically increase the equipment with such devices of other shelters in the capital. Kievans and guests of the city should have quick and unhindered access to shelters during air threats, - said the head of the KGVA Sergei Popko.[1] |
