2020: Introduction of the code of digital control
At the beginning of May, 2020 the government of Greece submitted the code of digital control. It was developed by specially appointed working group under coordination of the secretary general of Greece on digital control.
It is supposed that this code will help to implement technological capabilities of government and will reduce bureaucratic costs. New approach provides new standards of interaction of citizens and public institutions. According to the code personal data protection will be performed by the digital government on an equal basis with other priority tasks.
The code includes creation of a single system of transfer of digital documents, assignment to each citizen of permanent and invariable personal number, facsimile abolition, remote identification, standardization of websites of the central power. Also the government suggests to transfer all possible data to "cloud" storages within CloudFirst approach.
Uniform personal number should replace a TIN and number of the insurance certificate, and conditions of its use will be stated in the tax, labor and insurance law. Traditional facsimile will be replaced by new means of communication with a possibility of the electronic signature. Besides, the government is going to develop the uniform digital state portal which will provide public services to citizens of Greece. In the same place instead of the official newspaper government acts will be published.
Besides, the code will set directly uniform rules which should increase investments into networks of very high capacity, strengthen market development of means of electron coupling and protect end consumers of these electronic services, i.e. citizens and the enterprises.[1]
