Starter accumulators (market of Russia)

Lead starter accumulators are the most mass and inexpensive chemical current source, thanks to relative low cost of the used materials and high extent of industrial automation.

2013

In 2013 the size of the market of accumulators was about 11 million pieces that is 13% less, than in 2012. Import volume was 5.2 million accumulators in kind, export – 175 thousand. Domestic production of starter accumulators in Russia in 2013 decreased in kind by 1% and made slightly more than 6 million pieces. At the same time, production of lead accumulators for start of internal combustion engines is concentrated in the Volga and Ural federal districts.

The main producers of starter batteries in the Russian market are the companies: "AKOM", Aktech, Tubor, Alkor, Tyumen AZ, "Current source Kursk, Elektroistochnik, "KZA". Approximate shares of the largest producers of starter accumulators in the market of Russia in 2012 look as follows: Tyumen Battery Plant - 20%, approximately identical shares (on 13%) have the plants "Aktech", "Aky", "Tubor", PAZ and Source.

In 2013 the leader of import of lead accumulators to Russia in value term is Ukraine which imported for this period 927 thousand lead accumulators on 51 mln. dollars, and the leader in kind - South Korea which imported slightly more than 1 million accumulators on 42 mln. dollars. In 2013 the leader of export of lead accumulators for start of internal combustion engines from Russia in natural and value term is AKOM Ltd which exported for this period 137 thousand lead accumulators on 5.85 mln. dollars.

New rates for nearly a half of the import duties operating in the Customs union began to work since September 1, 2013, decrease concerned, including, and rechargeable batteries. The relevant decisions were made by earlier Eurasian economic commission, thus, fulfilling obligations assumed by Russia before the World Trade Organization.
