2022: Putin appointed Rostelecom's daughter as organizer of the development of identification and authentication technologies in the Russian Federation

At the end of September 2022 Russia Vladimir Putin , the president appointed the "daughter" "the Rostelecom organizer of the development of identification technologies in the Russian authentications Federation. We are talking about the company "Center biometric for Technologies" (CBT).

As Vedomosti writes with reference to the corresponding decree of the head of state, the CBT is endowed with the status of an organizer of the development of digital identification and authentication technologies, including on the basis of biometric personal data and services for signing and storing documents. In addition, according to the document, the company will be able to develop and operate commercial services and typical solutions in the field of biometrics.

Within three months after the publication of the decree, the Federal Property Management Agency should enter the capital of the CBT with a share of 26%. Another 25% will receive another structure - the Central Bank may become it. By the beginning of October 2022, 99.9% of CBT owns Rostelecom, Vedomosti cites data from the SPARK-Interfax system. After the redistribution of capital, the company's share will be 49%.
